The Stable

Westwater Advocates is one of Scotland’s longest established and largest multi-disciplinary stables, with 43 advocate members including 13 silks. Sheila Westwater has been the clerk since 1991 and is assisted by Christina Ballantyne, Jane Morrison, Debbie Dawson, Mardi Thompson and Rosie Hanlon. The clerks provide excellent service, advising on the availability and suitability of advocates for particular work and are always willing to agree fees in advance.

Our Approach

At all levels of seniority, the stable offers advocates whose experience includes commercial, contract, construction (including adjudication), insolvency, financial provision on divorce, co-habitation and all aspects of public and private child law, employment and disciplinary matters, personal injury, professional (including medical) negligence, mental health, land, property, trusts and executry, pensions, media, data protection, judicial review and licensing.
