Molly Little

Molly called to the Bar in 2026 as a Lord Reid scholar. Her areas of practice are primarily in family and child law.

Prior to calling to the Bar, Molly was in private practice as a solicitor in the family law teams of two leading Edinburgh firms. She has experience across all areas of child law litigation, including child abduction, relocation and cases involving allegations of abuse. Molly also has a background in acting for clients involved in the children’s hearing system, including cases where grounds of referral are contested and children’s panel decisions are appealed.

During devilling, Molly gained experience in judicial review where children’s rights were engaged. She has developed a particular interest in cases involving challenges to UNCRC compatibility.

In addition, Molly has experience of advising high net worth individuals on financial provision on divorce and claims arising from the breakdown of cohabitation. She has a particular interest in financial provision on divorce where economic disadvantage arguments are advanced. As a solicitor, she pursued and defended such cases in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.

She attended the University of Edinburgh where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. Prior to entering practice, Molly worked for the Scottish Law Commission as a legal assistant on the cohabitation and surrogacy law reform projects. She maintains an active interest in both areas of law.

Molly has been an undergraduate tutor at the University of Edinburgh in Family Law since 2020 and is also a regular contributor to the Family Law Bulletin.
