Westwater Advocates congratulates Alex Critchley on his appointment to the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law. The Committee provides expert advice to the UK Government on a variety of issues in the area of private international law. He was appointed to the Committee following nomination by the Scottish Government.
Alex’s appointment to the Committee reflects his expertise and experience in family law disputes involving an international (including intra-UK) element. He holds a doctorate in private international law. His thesis was published by Bloomsbury in its Studies in Private International Law series. He has taught private international law at the University of Edinburgh for a number of years, with current responsibility for lecturing those elements of the course covering international family law.
