Morag called to the bar in June 2024 and has a particular interest in family law and child law. Prior to calling, she trained with a leading Edinburgh private client firm, gaining experience in family law, trust law, taxation and property law. She has experience in litigation arising from the breakdown of relationships, including financial provision on divorce and financial claims on the breakdown of cohabitation. Morag is familiar with cases involving high-net-worth individuals and complex assets including partnerships, trusts and companies. In addition, she also has experience in disputes involving children, including residence and contact actions.
She completed her LLB and Professional Legal Practice at Edinburgh University. Before that, she read Ancient History, graduating from Kings College London, and worked in London in the technology sector.
Morag is an undergraduate course tutor at the University of Edinburgh in Family Law (Ordinary), Contract Law & Unjustified Enrichment, and Succession & Trusts. She has published numerous articles on a wide range of family law matters and regularly contributes to Greens Family Law Bulletin. She was a researcher for the eighth edition of Thomson’s Family Law in Scotland and is in the process of co-editing “Child and Family Law” Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia Reissue. She is a Law Reporter for Session Cases.
