Door Number 11 reopens – automatically

Door number 11 reopened on Monday following a closure of several weeks to allow for refurbishment and modernisation work. The newly installed automatic doors are a welcome addition for agents, counsel, clerks and couriers as they allow for the easier transit of voluminous case material in and out of the building.

Clerk Sheila Westwater said “The work at door number 11 is just one part of the extensive schedule of renovations being undertaken at the Court of Session. As well as the new doors, the work in Parliament Hall has also been completed and now that the paintings and statues have been returned it is looking better than ever.”
