Today members of Westwater Advocates are in action talking about the way that Brexit is changing family law. Antonia Welsh is working with the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association and Gillespie Macandrew to present “Beyond the Basics”, in a webinar on the new jurisdictional rules applying to family law cases from 1 January 2021. The event will give attendees an overview of the key topics and offer practical insights on how the changes will impact family lawyers and their clients. Meantime Janys M Scott QC is presenting a virtual Brexit seminar for solicitors, organised by Balfour & Manson on “Practical Brexit” covering some of the pitfalls in the new rules on jurisdiction and the need to get to grips with Hague Conventions on Maintenance and Parental Responsibility.
