Privy Council Judicial Committee Rules in Favour of Sir Crispin Agnew QC’s Client in Disputed Baronetcy Claim

Sir Crispin Agnew of Lochnaw Bt QC, acting with James Guthrie QC of the English Bar, appeared before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council representing Murray Pringle in his successful claim to the Scottish Baronetcy of Pringle of Stitchill.

This was a complex claim where DNA evidence taken for a clan project showed that the grandfather of Simon Pringle, who expected to inherit the baronetcy from his father Sir Steuart Pringle, was in fact not of the Pringle male line and so Murray Pringle, as then heir of the true line, claimed the title.

The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council has now ruled in his favour:
