The article, jointly written by Crispin and Dr Gillian Black of Edinburgh University, is entitled:

The Significance of Status and Genetics in Succession to Titles, Honours, Dignities and Coats of Arms: Making the Case for Reform

and was published in Volume 77, Issue 2 July 2018, pp. 321-348 in the Cambridge Law Journal.

The idea for the article came from the decision “In re the Baronetcy of Pringle of Stichill 2016 SC(PC) 1” where Crispin acted for the successful claimant to the Baronetcy of Pringle of Stichill in the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. The article looks at discrimination in the succession to titles.
